Visual Inspection

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the plug hole plate. (See PLUG HOLE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .)
- Remove the CMP sensor. (See CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .)
- Verify that there are no metal shavings on the sensor.
- If there is a malfunction, repair or replace the CMP sensor. (See CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .)
- Install the CMP sensor. (See CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L5] .)
