Charcoal Canister, Canister Vent (CV) Solenoid Valve, Air Filter Component Inspection

- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 2.5] .)
- Remove the charcoal canister, CV solenoid valve, air filter component. (See CHARCOAL CANISTER, CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID VALVE, AIR FILTER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Plug the purge solenoid valve side of the charcoal canister.
- Pressurizing from the fuel tank side of the charcoal canister, verify that there is no leak from the charcoal canister and that the CV solenoid valve is closed.
- If malfunction, replace the charcoal canister, CV solenoid valve, air filter component. (See CHARCOAL CANISTER, CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID VALVE, AIR FILTER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connect the battery positive voltage to CV solenoid valve terminal A.
- Pressurizing from the fuel tank side of the charcoal canister, verify that the CV solenoid valve is open and that there is airflow through the air filter.
- If malfunction, replace the charcoal canister, CV solenoid valve, air filter component. (See CHARCOAL CANISTER, CANISTER VENT (CV) SOLENOID VALVE, AIR FILTER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
