Automatic Transaxle Fluid (ATF) Replacement
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING:
- A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before changing the ATF.
- Drain the ATF.
- Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO. 2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the dipstick in the order indicated in the table.PARTS DESCRIPTION CHART
1 Bolt 2 Dipstick 3 O-ring - Remove the drain plug and washer to drain the ATF into a separate suitable container.
- Add ATF.
- Install a new washer and the drain plug.
Tightening torque 30-41 N.m {3.1-4.1 kgf.m, 23-30 ft.lbf}
- Add ATF.

Draining ATF from drain plug: 3.0 L {3.2 US qt, 2.6 lmp qt}
Overhauling transaxle: 5.0 L {5.3 US qt, 4.4 lmp qt}
- Install the aerodynamic under cover NO. 2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Install the dipstick in the reverse order of removal.CAUTION:
- If the O-ring is damaged, replace the O-ring with a new one. Otherwise, ATF could leak.
Tightening torque 8-10 N.m {82-101 kgf.cm, 71-88 in.lbf}
- Install a new washer and the drain plug.
- Inspect the ATF level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION .)
