NOTE:

This DTC is recorded when the torque reduction control operates to prevent the differential journal from burning or seizure. The DTC does not indicate a malfunction.

DTC DESCRIPTION CHART

DTC P1712:00

Prevents the differential journal from burning or seizure

DETECTION CONDITION

The TCM detects that difference between rotation speed of left and right driving wheels is 490 rpm or more when the following conditions are met.
- Vehicle speed: 80 km/h (49 mph) or less
- DSC OFF switch operation: On (DSC/TCS not operating)
- Wheel speed signal: normal

Diagnostic support note

The MIL does not illuminate.
The AT warning light does not illuminate.
PENDING CODE is not available.
FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
The DTC is stored in the TCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

A difference occurs between the rotation speed of the left and right drive wheels under the following conditions:

Extracting vehicle from mud
Tires spin on slippery road
