DESCRIPTION

Some vehicles may exhibit a rattle type noise from the front seat belt shoulder adjuster (A) when driving on rough road conditions. This noise may be caused by the B-pillar upper trim making contact with the seat belt adjuster cover.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

Attach non-woven fabric to the B-pillar upper trim.

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Remove the B-pillar upper trim per MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 09-17 B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

NOTE:
Use Trim Fastener and Molding Remover Set tool to prevent trim damage. Tool is available on M-Store, part number AKS9029M.

3. Turn over the B-pillar upper trim, and remove the cover (A) in the direction shown.

4. Attach non-woven fabric as shown (thickness: 0.5 mm).

NOTE:
Make sure that the non-woven fabric cannot be seen from the surface side of the B-pillar upper trim.

6. Re-install the B-pillar upper trim per MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 09-17 B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

NOTE:
