Engine Air Cleaner Removal / Installation - 4.0L

  1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the engine air cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe from the air cleaner outlet

    Tightening torque: 

    3 Nm {0.3 kgf-m, 27 in-lbf} 

  2. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
    NOTE:
    • Pry the ACL from the base.
  3. Remove the ACL assembly.

    NOTE:
    • Clean the engine air cleaner with a dry, clean cloth.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
