Safety Belt Minder Deactivating/Activating: Deactivating/Activating
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. (Do not start the engine.)
- Wait until the safety belt warning indicator turns off (approximately one minute).NOTE:
- Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds or the procedure must be repeated.
- For the seating position being disabled, buckle and unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending with the safety belt unbuckled.
- After this step the safety belt warning indicator illuminates for 3 seconds.
- Within 5 seconds of the safety belt indicator turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt at a moderate speed. This enables the belt minder if enabled or disables the belt minder if enabled.
- Within 7 seconds of the safety belt warning indicator turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt. This will enable the belt minder if disabled or disable the belt minder if enabled.
- The following event confirms the belt minder is enabled or disabled:
- If enabled, flashing of the safety belt warning belt indicator 4 times per second for 3 seconds confirms the belt minder is disabled.
- If disabled, flashing of the safety belt indicator 4 times per second for 3 seconds confirms the belt minder is disabled.
- After confirmation, the deactivation/activation procedure is complete.
