OSS Sensor 5R44E/5R55E Removal / Installation

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING .
Disconnect output shaft speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.

Remove OSS sensor.
1. Remove the OSS sensor screw.
2. Remove the OSS sensor from the transmission.
  - Inspect the OSS sensor O-ring for damage. If damaged, replace the O-ring.

Inspect and lubricate O-ring with petroleum jelly.
1. Install the (1) OSS sensor into the transmission.
2. Tighten the (2) OSS sensor screw.

Connect OSS sensor electrical connector.

Lower the vehicle.
