Removal (B2300, B3000 & B4000)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2003 Mazda Tribute, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2003 Mazda Protege, 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata, and 2003 Mazda MPV. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Sensor may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C). If HO2S is difficult to remove, use rust penetrant to avoid damaging threads.
  1. Disconnect Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) harness connector.
  2. Using appropriate HO2S socket, carefully remove sensor.
