Oil Pan Removal / Installation - 3.0L 2WD: Removal

All vehicles

Remove the flywheel or flexplate. See FLYWHEEL REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L , or FLEXPLATE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L .
Drain the engine oil.
Vehicles equipped with coil springs
Remove the air cleaner outlet tube. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET TUBE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 3.0L , .

Remove the nuts from the engine mounts.
Install the lifting eyes SST and the three-bar engine support SST and raise the engine 43 mm (1.72 in).
Install blocks between the engine mounts and the support brackets.

Remove the bolts and the oil pan.

Discard the gasket.
