Removal Note

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Mazda B3000. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

CAUTION:

Do not use oil or grease-based lubricants on the isolators. These lubricants may cause deterioration of the rubber. This can lead to separation of the isolator from the exhaust hanger bracket during vehicle operation.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING .
Disconnect the healed oxygen sensors (HO2S) and catalyst monitor sensor electrical connectors.
Remove the RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-muffler and tailpipe assembly bolts, flag nuts and gasket.
Remove the transmission mount and isolator-to-transmission bolt.

Remove the LH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe nuts.
Using a suitable jack, support the RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe.
NOTE:
- Do not remove the RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
Loosen the RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

Using a suitable jack, support the LH side of the exhaust Y-pipe.
Remove the LH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

Remove the LH side of the exhaust Y-pipe.
Remove the LH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe gasket.
Remove the RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts and remove the RH side of the exhaust Y-pipe.
