Exhaust Manifold Left Hand Removal / Installation - 3.0L

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING .
- Disconnect the battery. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
- Remove the exhaust flange nuts.
- Lower the vehicle.NOTE:
- For installation, the end of the oil level indicator tube should be cleaned with metal surface prep before application of silicone gasket and sealant.
- Remove the oil level indicator tube assembly, and the intake manifold support bracket.
- Remove the nuts.
- Detach the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube from the exhaust manifold.
Tightening torque
50 Nm {37 ft-lbf}
- Remove the bolts and the nuts.
- Remove the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Position the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Install the bolts and the nuts.
- Tighten the nuts and the bolts in sequence in two steps:
Tightening torque
10Nm{1.0kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}
Tightening torque
23 Nm {2.3 kgf.m, 17 ft.lbf}
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
