Exhaust Manifold Left Hand Removal / Installation - 3.0L

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING .
Disconnect the battery. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
Remove the exhaust flange nuts.

Lower the vehicle.
NOTE:
- For installation, the end of the oil level indicator tube should be cleaned with metal surface prep before application of silicone gasket and sealant.
Remove the oil level indicator tube assembly, and the intake manifold support bracket.
- Remove the nuts.

Detach the exhaust manifold-to-exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve tube from the exhaust manifold.
Tightening torque

50 Nm {37 ft-lbf}
Remove the bolts and the nuts.

Remove the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket.
Position the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket.
Install the bolts and the nuts.
- Tighten the nuts and the bolts in sequence in two steps:
Tightening torque

10Nm{1.0kgf-m, 89 in-lbf}

Tightening torque

23 Nm {2.3 kgf.m, 17 ft.lbf}

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
