Engine Mount LH Removal / Installation - 3.0L: Removal

All vehicles 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING .
2. Disconnect the battery. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
3. Remove the hood.
4. Remove the fan. See COOLING FAN AND CLUTCH REMOVAL / INSTALLATION -- 3.0L .
5. Attach the lifting eyes SST  .

6. Remove the engine support insulator nuts.
7. Raise the engine and support with a Three-Bar Engine Support.

   2WD vehicles

8. Remove the engine support insulator nut.

   4WD vehicles

   CAUTION:

   • Tape the U-joint bearing caps to prevent them from falling off the U-joints.
   CAUTION:

   • Index-mark the front axle pinion flange to the front driveshaft.
9. Remove and discard the bolts and straps. Secure the driveshaft aside.

10. Secure the front axle housing to a suitable jack.

    NOTE:

    • Only 2 axle housing mounting bolts shown.
11. Remove the 3 axle housing mounting bolts and lower the axle housing approximately 50 mm (2 inches).

12. Remove the engine support insulator nut.

    All vehicles 

13. Remove the engine support insulator.
