Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine air cleaner outlet pipe. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET PIPE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 2.3L .
  3. Disconnect the electric cooling fan electrical connector.

  4. Vehicles equipped with metal power steering fluid reservoir bracket 

  5. Remove the bolts and position the power steering reservoir aside.

  6. Vehicles equipped with an integral plastic power steering fluid reservoir bracket 

  7. Remove the bolts and position the power steering reservoir out of the way.

  8. All vehicles 

  9. Remove the right side cooling fan shroud mounting bolt and lift the shroud and electric cooling fan assembly from the vehicle.

    Vehicles equipped with metal power steering fluid reservoir bracket 

    NOTE:
    • For vehicles equipped with a metal power steering fluid reservoir bracket, the fan shroud and electric cooling fan are serviced as an assembly.
  10. Vehicles equipped with an integral plastic power steering fluid reservoir bracket 

  11. If necessary, remove the bolts and the electric cooling fan.

  12. If necessary, remove the bolts, bracket and the nuts.

  13. All vehicles 

  14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
