Thermostat Removal / Installation - 4.0L

  1. Partially drain the engine coolant. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L  .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
  3. Remove the upper radiator hose extension.

  4. Remove the bolts, the water outlet adapter and the thermostat.

    • Inspect the O-ring seal. Install a new O-ring seal if necessary.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
