Thermostat Removal / Installation - 4.0L

Partially drain the engine coolant. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L .
Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
Remove the upper radiator hose extension.

Remove the bolts, the water outlet adapter and the thermostat.

- Inspect the O-ring seal. Install a new O-ring seal if necessary.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill radiator with specified amount and type of engine coolant and bleed the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L .
