PINPOINT TEST 3		THE PARKING BRAKE ON WARNING CHIME DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER OPERATION Key in ON position. Monitor the speedometer operation while driving over 5 km/h (3 mph). Does the speedometer operate correctly?	Yes	Go to next step.
1		No	REFER to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER , to continue diagnosis of the speedometer.
2	CHECK THE PARKING BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR OPERATION Apply and release the parking brake. Monitor the brake warning indicator while applying and releasing the parking brake. Does the brake warning indicator turn on when the parking brake is applied and turn off when released?	Yes	Go to next step.
2		No	See REFER to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER , to continue diagnosis of the parking brake warning indicator.
3	CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors. Check for: corrosion damaged pins pushed-out pins Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Install a new instrument cluster. see INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . Test the system for normal operation.
3		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
