Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 2.3L

Removal
1. Remove the flywheel or flexplate.
2. Remove the oil pan.





3. Remove the bolts and the crankshaft rear oil seal.

Installation





1. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal on the crankshaft.
^ Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown to 10 Nm (1 kgf-m, 7 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the oil pan.
3. Install the flywheel or flexplate.
