Symptom Troubleshooting Chart - Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING CHART - DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS

Problem Possible Cause Action
The daytime running lamps (DRL) are inoperative
  • Smart junction box (SJB)
NOTE:
  • Make sure the SJB is configured for daytime running lamps (DRL).
  • Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.
  • If the headlamps operate correctly, install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . Test the system for normal operation.
  • If the headlamps do not operate correctly, see HEADLAMPS  .
The daytime running lamps (DRL) are on with the parking brake set
  • Circuitry
  • SJB
  • Instrument cluster
  • Apply the parking brake with the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  • If the brake warning indicator operates correctly, install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . Test the system for normal operation.
  • If the brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, see INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
