- Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
- Detach the wiring harness retainer from the ignition coil bracket.
- Disconnect the radio interference capacitor electrical connector.
- Detach the accelerator cable bracket from the ignition coil.
- Remove the 4 bolts and position the ignition coil and bracket aside.
Tightening Torque
Lower rear bolt 28 Nm {2.9 kgf-m, 21 ft-lbf}
Lower front bolt 23 Nm {2.3 kgf-m, 17 ft-lbf} 2 upper bolts 8 Nm {0.8 kgf-m, 71 in-lbf}
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the PCV valve.
- Twist and detach the PCV valve from the valve cover.
- Disconnect the 3 LH fuel injector electrical connectors.

CAUTION:- Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths.
- Clean the sealing surfaces and inspect the LH valve cover gasket. Install a new gasket if necessary.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
