Removal and Installation

Remove the tailgate.

Disconnect the taillamp wiring harness electrical connector.
Remove the fuel filler cap.

NOTE:
- Mark the position of the fuel filler cap tether for proper installation.
Remove the fuel filler neck screws.

NOTE:
- The pickup bed bolts are not identical and must be installed in the same location that they are removed from.
Remove the pickup bed bolts.
- To install, tighten to 63 N-m (6.4 kgf-m, 46 ft-lbf).
  NOTE:
  - Lifting the pickup bed requires at least 2 people on each side.
Remove the pickup bed.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Inspect and replace any damaged J-nuts.
