| No | Go to next step. | ||
| 2 | RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM BOTH THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND RCM SELF-TESTS
|
Yes | See AIR BAG AND SAFETY BELT PRETENSIONER SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) to continue diagnosis of the DTCs. Test the system for normal operation. |
| No | If the air bag warning indicator never on, go to next step. If the air bag warning indicator always on, go to step 6. | ||
| 3 | CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS FOR CORRECT FIT

Yes | The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. |
| No | Go to next step. | ||
| 4 | ISOLATE THE AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC MODULE
|
Yes | Remove the jumper wire. Go to step 8. |
| No | Remove the jumper wire. Go to next step. | ||
| 5 | CHECK CIRCUIT (B/Y) FOR AN OPEN
|
Yes | Go to step 9. |
| No | Repair circuit (B/Y) for an open. Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING . Test the system for normal operation. | ||
| 6 | CHECK CIRCUIT (B/Y) FOR OPERATION
|
Yes | Go to next step. |
| No | Go to step 8. | ||
| 7 | CHECK CIRCUIT (B/Y) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
|
Yes | Go to step 9. |
| No | Repair circuit (B/Y) for a short to ground. Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING . Test the system for normal operation. | ||
| 8 | CHECK FOR CORRECT RCM OPERATION
|
Yes | Install a new RCM. Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING . Test the system for normal operation. |
| No | The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING . | ||
| 9 | CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION

Yes | Install a new instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING . Test the system for normal operation. |
