HIGH BEAM INDICATOR NEVER ON PINPOINT TEST REFERENCE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	CHECK FOR CORRECT HIGH BEAM OPERATION Turn the headlamp switch to the headlamps ON position. Set the multifunction switch to the high beam position. Do the high beams operate correctly?	Yes	Go to next step.
1		No	See HEADLAMPS to continue diagnosis of the high beams.
2	CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER Key OFF. Disconnect: Instrument cluster 0922-101. Key ON. Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster 0922-101 pin 11, (GY/W), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?	Yes	Go to step 4.
2		No	Go to next step.
3	CHECK CIRCUIT (GY/W) FOR AN OPEN Key OFF. Disconnect: SJB J-2280a. Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster 0922-101 pin 11, (GY/W), harness side and the SJB J-2280a pin 21, (GY/W), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?	Yes	Go to step 5.
3		No	Repair circuit (GY/W) for an open. Test the system for normal operation.
4	CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins incorrectly installed bulb sockets burnt-out bulbs Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Install a new instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . Test the system for normal operation.
4		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
5	CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION Disconnect all the SJB connectors. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?	Yes	Install a new SJB. See SMART JUNCTION BOX (SJB) . Test the system for normal operation.
5		No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
