Variable Intake Air Shutter Valve Actuator Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the air hose. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the Variable intake air solenoid valve.
  3. Connect a vacuum pump to the Variable intake air shutter valve actuator.
  4. Apply vacuum and verify that the rod moves.
    • If the rod does not move, replace the intake manifold.

      Vacuum kPa {mmHg, inHg} Rod movement
      Below -2.7 {-20, -0.7} Not move
      Above -33.4 {-250, -9.9} Fully pulled
