Check Valve Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the check valve. (See EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CONTROL SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Blow through the valve and verify that air flows as specified.
    • If not as specified, replace the check valve.

    Specification 

    AIRFLOW CONDITION SPECIFICATION

    Condition Airflow
    Air applied from port B to A Yes
    Air applied from port A to B No(1)
    (1) The check valve is normal if the aeration to port B is 3.5kPa/min {0.03 kgf/cm 2  min, 0.5 psi/min} or less  when 130 kPa {1.32 kgf/cm 2  , 18.9 psi}  is applied to port A.
