A/C Receiver/Drier Removal/Installation

  1. Recover the refrigerant; see A/C REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TESTS .
  2. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector.

    CAUTION:
    • Use a back-up wrench to prevent damage to the tubes.
  3. Disconnect the suction accumulator refrigerant lines. See A/C SPRING LOCK COUPLING .
    • Discard the O-ring seals.

  4. Remove the three suction accumulator bracket screws and the suction accumulator.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • If a new suction accumulator is to be installed, transfer the A/C cycling switch to the new suction accumulator.
    • Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean refrigerant oil. See A/C REFRIGERANT OIL ADDITION .
    • Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean refrigerant oil.
  6. Evacuate, leak test, and charge the refrigerant system. See A/C REFRIGERANT SYSTEM TESTS .
