Exhaust Manifold Left Hand Removal/Installation - 3.0L

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. See LIFTING .
  3. Remove the nuts.

  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Remove the oil level indicator tube assembly, and the intake manifold support bracket.
    • Remove the upper intake manifold support brace.

  6. Remove the bolts and the nuts.

  7. Remove the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket.
  8. Position the exhaust manifold and the exhaust manifold gasket.
  9. Install the bolts and the nuts.
    • Tighten the nuts and the bolts in sequence in two steps:

      Tightening torque 

      10 N.m { 82 kgf.cm, 8 ft.lbf } 

      Tightening torque 

      20-25 N.m { 1.5-1.8 kgf.m, 15-18 ft.lbf }

  10. Install in reverse order of removal.
