Rear Coolant Outlet Pipe Removal/Installation - 2.3L

- Drain the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 2.3L .
- Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to

(automatic) or
MANUAL TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
.CAUTION:
- Use a block of wood to protect the oil pan.
- Support the motor with an appropriate jack stand.
- Disconnect the coolant bypass hose.
- Disconnect the coolant temperature sender electrical connector.
- Remove the bolts, the rear coolant outlet pipe, and the gasket.NOTE:
- Clean the gasket mating surfaces and install a new gasket.
NOTE:- Inspect the two front coolant outlet pipe O-rings. Install new O-rings if necessary.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
