Electric EGR (EEGR) Valve Heater Hose Removal/Installation - 2.3L

  1. Drain the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 2.3L  .

  2. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector and the hose from the thermostat housing.
  4. Remove the transmission. See AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (automatic) or MANUAL TRANSMISSION REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .

    CAUTION:
    • Remove the electrical connector locators from the splash shield before removing the shield.
  5. Remove the RH inner fender splash shield.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the pushpin.
    3. Remove the bolts.
    4. Remove the splash shield.

  6. Remove the hose mounting nuts.

  7. Disconnect the hose from the EEGR valve and remove the hose from the vehicle.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
