Assembly Note

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Mazda B2300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

NOTE:

If installing the original valves, make sure the valves are installed in the same position from which they were removed. Coat the valve stems with Super Premium SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil or equivalent.

Install the valves.
NOTE:
- Use the seal protector provided with the replacement kit to prevent damage to the valve stem seals.

Lubricate valve and guides with Super Premium SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil or equivalent and using the special tool or equivalent install the valve stem seals onto the cylinder head valve guides.

Place the valve spring in position over the valve and install the valve spring retainer.

Using the special tools or equivalent, compress the valve spring and install the valve spring retainer keys.
1. Remove the special tools.

  NOTE:
  - Be sure to install the tappets in the same location as they were removed from.
Install the 16 tappets.
Install the CHT sensor.

Install the spark plugs.

Install the EGR valve and gasket.

Install the coolant outlet pipe and gasket.

Install the rear lifting eye and front lifting eye bracket.
