Timing Chain Cover: Installation

  1. Clean all gasket mating surfaces. Coat both surfaces of NEW timing chain cover gasket with sealing compound. Install timing chain cover gasket. Install timing chain cover. Lightly oil threads of bolt and stud, except those with Teflon sealant, before installation. See Figure.
  2. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Fill and bleed cooling system. See FILLING  and COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING
