Cylinder Head Temperature Sensor

NOTE: Before performing the following inspections, ensure to follow the troubleshooting procedure. See TROUBLESHOOTING  .
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system in to appropriate container.
  3. Disconnect Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) sensor harness connector. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove CHT sensor.
  5. Place CHT sensor in water with a thermometer, and heat water gradually.
  6. Using ohmmeter, measure the resistance of CHT sensor between sensor terminals at specified temperatures. See Fig 2 . If resistance is not as specified, replace CHT sensor.
