Flash-To-Pass Feature Is Inoperative

PINPOINT TEST 5 - FLASH-TO-PASS FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE

PINPOINT TEST 5 FLASH-TO-PASS FEATURE IS INOPERATIVE
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK CIRCUIT DL/O FOR VOLTAGE
  • Disconnect: Multifunction Switch 0918-105.
  • Measure the voltage between the multifunction switch 0918-105 pin 6, circuit DL/O, harness side and ground.
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 
Yes Install a new multifunction switch. See MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
No Go to step 2.
2 CHECK CIRCUIT DL/O FOR AN OPEN
  • Disconnect: SJB J-2280b.
  • Measure the resistance between the multifunction switch 0918-105 pin 6 circuit DUO, harness side and the SJB J-2280b pin 1, circuit DL/O, harness side.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Go to step 3.
No Repair the circuit. Test the system for normal operation.
3 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
  • Key OFF.
  • Disconnect all SJB connectors.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion
    • pushed-out pins
  • Connect all SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present? 
Yes Install a new SJB. Test the system for normal operation.
No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
