CARRY OUT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF-TEST
- Key ON.
- Carry out the instrument cluster self-test while observing the speedometer. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSIS .
- Does the speedometer self-test correctly?

Yes |
Go to step 2. |
| No |
Go to step 3. |

CHECK CIRCUIT GY/B FOR AN OPEN
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect instrument cluster 0922-102.
- Disconnect: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) 0140-175.
- Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster 0922-102 pin 5, circuit GY/B, harness side and the PCM 0140-175 pin 68, circuit GY/B, harness side.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes |
Go to step 3. |
| No |
Repair the circuit. Test the system for normal operation. |

CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
- Key OFF.
- Disconnect instrument cluster 0922-101.
- Key ON.
- Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster 0922-101 pin 8, circuit R/Y, harness side and ground; and between the instrument cluster 0922-101 pin 12, circuit P/B harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes |
Go to step 3. |
| No |
Repair the circuit. Test the system for normal operation. |

CHECK FOR CIRCUITS B AND B/W FOR AN OPEN
- Key OFF.
- Check the resistance between the instrument cluster 0922-102 pin 1 circuit B, harness side and ground and instrument cluster 0922-101 pin 3 circuit B/W, harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes |
Go to step 5. |
| No |
Repair the circuit. Test the system for normal operation. |

CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?

Yes |
Replace the instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
. Test the system for normal operation. |
| No |
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. Clear the DTCs. Test the system for normal operation. |
