Door Ajar Indicator Does Not Operate Correctly

PINPOINT TEST 4 - DOOR AJAR INDICATOR NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY

PINPOINT TEST 4 DOOR AJAR CHIME DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY THE INTERIOR LAMPS OPERATE
  • Key ON.
  • Open and close each front door.
  • Do the interior lamps operate correctly? 
Yes If the door ajar chime is inoperative with driver door open, Go to step 2. If door ajar chime is inoperative with passenger door open, Go to step 3.
No See INTERIOR LIGHTING DIAGNOSIS .
2 CHECK CIRCUIT LG/B FOR AN OPEN
  • Disconnect instrument cluster 0922-102.
  • Disconnect smart junction box (SJB) J-2280C.
  • Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster 0922-102 pin 2, circuit LG/B, harness side and the SJB J-2280c pin 2, circuit LG/B, harness side.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Go to step 3.
No Repair the circuit. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
3 CHECK CIRCUIT Y/LG FOR AN OPEN
  • Disconnect instrument cluster 0922-102.
  • Disconnect smart junction box (SJB) J-2280d.
  • Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster 0922-102 pin 3, circuit Y/LG, harness side and the SJB J-2280d pin 4, circuit Y/LG, harness side.
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 
Yes Go to step 4.
No Repair the circuit. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
4 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
  • Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion
    • pushed-out pins
  • Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present? 
Yes Replace the instrument cluster.
See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by loose or corroded connector. Clear the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
