STOPLAMPS On Continuously

PINPOINT TEST 3 - STOPLAMPS ON CONTINUOUSLY

PINPOINT TEST 3 STOPLAMPS ON CONTINUOUSLY
STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 CHECK CIRCUIT DG FOR A SHORT TO POWER
  • Disconnect: Battery Junction Box (BJB) Fuse 38 (7.5A).
  • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
Yes Go to step 2.
No Repair the circuit. Test the system for normal.
2 CHECK CIRCUIT Y FOR A SHORT TO POWER
  • Disconnect: BJB Fuse 42 (7.5A).
  • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
Yes Go to step 3.
No Repair the circuit. Test the system for normal.
3 CHECK THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH
  • Disconnect brake pedal position (BPP) switch 0918-01.
  • Are the stoplamps illuminated? 
Yes Go to step 4.
No Replace BPP switch.
4 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
  • Disconnect multifunction switch 0918-105.
  • Do the stoplamps continue to illuminate? 
Yes If the high mounted stoplamp is on continuously, Repair circuit DG.
If the LH or RH stoplamp is on continuously, Repair circuit LG.
Test the system for normal operation.
No Install a new multifunction switch. See MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION . Test the system for normal operation.
