Diagnostic procedure

NO. 27 GEAR POSITION INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE IN M RANGE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION ACTION

  • Do other indicator lights illuminate with the ignition switch at ON?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Inspect the meter fuse.

  • Inspect the voltage at the TCM terminal A7.

    (See TCM INSPECTION .)

  • Is the voltage normal?
Yes Inspect the instrument cluster.
No Inspect the M range switch. If the M range switch is normal, inspect for continuity between the M range switch and TCM terminal A7.

  • Verify test results.
    • If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
    • If malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Bulletins and/or On-line Repair Information and perform repair or diagnosis.
      • If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting completed.
      • If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the TCM.
