Removal & Installation (Miata & Protege 1.6L)

Disconnect negative battery cable. Sensor is located on front of engine, near crankshaft pulley. Remove engine undercover. Disconnect wiring connector. Remove sensor bolts and sensor. To install, replace sensor and loosely install mounting bolts. Using a feeler gauge, adjust sensor air gap to.020-.060" (.5-1.5 mm). On Protege models, only some adjustment is possible. If air gap is still not within specification, replace crankshaft pulley. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
