Removal & Installation

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove appropriate B-pillar trim panel. Remove lower seat belt anchor bolt. See Fig 1.
Remove shoulder anchor bolt. Remove seat belt pretensioner mounting bolts, disconnect harness connector and remove pretensioner.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. Check AIR BAG warning light to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
