Removal & Installation (Miata, Millenia 2.3L, MPV, Protege, Protege5 & 626 2.0L)

On Miata, Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is located on rear of cylinder head. On Millenia 2.3L, MPV, Protege, Protege5 and 626 2.0L, CMP sensor is located on front of valve cover. To remove, disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect CMP sensor harness connector. Remove hold-down bolt. See Fig 1. Remove CMP sensor. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
