Automatic Transaxle (ATX) Removal/Installation: Notes

Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
Remove the tires and splash shield.
Remove the battery and battery carrier.
Remove the fresh-air duct and air cleaner component. (See INTAKE AIR SYSTEM .)
Remove the EGR pipe, front pipe and TWC. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
WARNING:
- Improperly jacking a transaxle is dangerous. It can slip off the jack and may cause serious injury.
Remove in the order indicated in the table.
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Add ATF to the specified level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT .)
Carry out the mechanical system test. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST .)
