Engine Disassembly/Assembly

  1. Disconnect the engine and transaxle. (See MANUAL TRANSAXLE (MTX) REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE (ATX) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  2. Remove the intake-air system. (See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the exhaust system. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the oil filter. (See OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT .)
  5. Remove the thermostat. (See THERMOSTAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  6. Remove the ignition coil.
  7. Remove the generator.
  8. Disassemble in the order indicated in the figure.

  9. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
