Inspection And Verification Front Suspension: Notes

CAUTION:
  • Do not attempt to adjust the wheel alignment without first making a preliminary inspection of the front end parts and correcting where necessary - Prior to inspection: 
  1. Fill all fluids to specification.
  2. Make sure the spare tire or wheel and related equipment are correctly stored.
  3. Remove any excessive accumulation of mud, dirt or road deposits from the chassis, wheels and under-body.
  4. Retain all normal loads in the vehicle. Inflate all tires to the recommended pressure.
  5. Check both front tires and make sure they are the correct size.
  6. Check for worn or damaged front suspension lower arm ball joints; refer to BALL JOINT INSPECTION - FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM  .
  7. Check for worn or damaged steering components; refer to ENGINE SPEED SENSING POWER STEERING .
  8. Check the steering gear mounting bolts and tighten to specification. Refer to ENGINE SPEED SENSING POWER STEERING .
