Inspection And Verification Front Suspension: Notes
CAUTION:
- Do not attempt to adjust the wheel alignment without first making a preliminary inspection of the front end parts and correcting where necessary - Prior to inspection:
- Fill all fluids to specification.
- Make sure the spare tire or wheel and related equipment are correctly stored.
- Remove any excessive accumulation of mud, dirt or road deposits from the chassis, wheels and under-body.
- Retain all normal loads in the vehicle. Inflate all tires to the recommended pressure.
- Check both front tires and make sure they are the correct size.
- Check for worn or damaged front suspension lower arm ball joints; refer to BALL JOINT INSPECTION - FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM .
- Check for worn or damaged steering components; refer to ENGINE SPEED SENSING POWER STEERING .
- Check the steering gear mounting bolts and tighten to specification. Refer to ENGINE SPEED SENSING POWER STEERING .
