Rear Door Hinge: Adjustments

HINGE ADJUSTMENT - REAR DOOR

WARNING: If the side air bag sensor is subjected to shock or the sensor is disassembled, the side air bag module may operate (deploy) suddenly and cause injury, or it may fail to operate normally and cause a serious accident. Do not subject the side air bag sensor to shock or disassemble the sensor.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.
2. Remove the front seat safety belt retractor.






3. Mark the positions of the rear door hinges to use as reference points.






4. Looser the rear door hinge-to-body bolts just enough to permit movement.






5. Loosen the two rear door hinge-to-body bolts just enough to permit movement.






6. Adjust the rear door to specification.






7. Tighten the four rear door hinge-to-body bolts.
8. Check the front door adjustments.
9. Install the front seat safety belt retractor.
