Removal & Installation (Protege & Protege5)
WARNING:
When the engine is hot, it can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until it is cool before removing the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
- Drain the engine coolant.
- Disconnect the ECT sensor connector.
- Remove the ECT sensor using the Special Service Tool (49-D015-004). See Fig 1.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Replace gasket as well as fill and bleed cooling system to complete installation. See COOLING SYSTEM BLEEDING under COOLING SYSTEM.
