Wheel Knuckle - 2WD: Installation
- Using the special tools, install a new wheel bearing into the wheel knuckle.
- Install the snap ring into the wheel knuckle.
- Position the brake backing plate to the wheel knuckle and install the bolts.
- Using the wheel hub washer and the special tool, install the wheel hub into the wheel bearing.
- Install a new wheel hub nut.
- Position the wheel knuckle and install the wheel knuckle cam.
- Install the wheel knuckle cam bolt and nut loosely.
- Support the wheel knuckle and install the spring.
- Install the lower shock absorber nut.
- Position the upper ball joint and install the nut.
- Position the lower ball joint and install the nut.
- Tighten the wheel knuckle cam bolt and nut.
- Align the wheel knuckle cam.
- Tighten the wheel knuckle cam bolt and nut.
- Connect the brake line to the wheel cylinder.
- Install the brake line bracket bolt.
- Install the parking brake cable.
- Install the bolt.
- Push the parking brake cable through the brake backing plate.
- On vehicles with ABS, position the ABS sensor and bracket bolts.
- Install the bolts.
- On all models, install the brake shoes. Refer to REAR BRAKE DRUM SHOES .
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
- Check and adjust the wheel alignment as necessary. Refer to the following:

- For 2003 models, see WHEEL ALIGNMENT .
- For 2004 models, see WHEEL ALIGNMENT
NOTE:
If equipped, install the ABS sensor ring.
