Disabling Air Bag System (Accord)

  1. Obtain radio anti-theft code from vehicle owner and write down preset radio frequencies. Ensure ignition is OFF. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least 3 MINUTES.
  2. Remove access panel from under steering wheel. Disconnect 4-pin connector between driver air bag and cable reel. See Figure and Figure .
  3. Remove glove box. Disconnect 4-pin connector between passenger air bag and SRS main harness. See Figure and Figure . When disconnected, air bag connector half power and ground terminals are automatically shorted together.
  4. Unplug side air bag module 2-pin connectors for driver and passenger side impact air bag modules. On driver's side, connector is near front, lower left corner under seat. On passenger's side, connector is near front, lower right corner under seat. See Figure.
  5. On sedan models, remove left and right "B" pillar lower trim panels. On coupe models, remove rear side trim panel. On both models, unplug 2-pin connector between both front seat belt pretensioners and SRS main harness. When disconnected, seat belt pretensioner connector power and ground terminals are automatically shorted together.
