Vehicle Preparation For Drive Cycles

  1. Access theECT, FLI  andIAT  PIDs using NGS Tester.
  2. Verify theIAT  PID is between 50-100°F (10-38°C).
  3. Verify theFLI  PID is between 15% and 85% (EVAP system monitor only).
  4. Warm the vehicle until theECT  PID reaches a minimum of 130°F (54°C).
  5. Clear all DTCs with the NGS tester. P1000 will remain.
  6. Access the ON-BOARD SYSTEM READINESS TESTS menu on the NGS tester to view the status of the OBD-II monitors.
  7. Proceed with the OBD-II Drive Cycle or selected repair verification drive cycle. Once started, the engine must not be turned off.
