OBD-II Drive Cycle

NOTE:
  • TheIAT  PID must be between 50-100°F (10-38°C) during the OBD-II drive cycle to enter into all OBD-II monitors.
  • TheFLI  PID must be between 15% and 85% at all times.
  1. Drive in stop-and-go traffic with at lease 5 idle periods of more than 30 seconds each.
    NOTE: If the NGS tester sends out a three-pulse beep at any time, the OBD-II drive cycle has completed.
  2. Bring the vehicle to a stop and access the ON-BOARD SYSTEM READINESS TESTS menu to check completion status.
    • If completed, completion status changes from NO to YES.
    • If the EGR, HO2S, EVAP and/or catalyst efficiency monitors have not completed, perform the corresponding repair verification drive cycle.
  3. Verify no DTCs are available.
