Timing Drive Components - Timing Sprockets: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the timing belt. Refer to TIMING BELT .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
    3. CAUTION: The camshaft alignment tool is not recommended to hold the camshafts in place when removing or tightening the bolts. Damage to camshaft ears may result.
    NOTE: Use SST 303-098 to keep each camshaft from rotating.

  3. Remove the bolts and the camshaft timing sprockets.
